Games - Moving Around Games - Stuck in the Mud

This is an old favorite. Its a version of tag. You pick a few children to be 'it'. Every one else runs around trying to aviod being touched by these that are on 'it'. If they are touched they need to stop and stand with their arms outstretched as though they are stuck in the mud. They can be freed from the mud by a person who has not been tagged running under their arms. (If the children are of a similar size and you think it is appropriate you can let them be freed by a nother player running under their legs.) The game ends when every one is stuck in the mud or you think it is time to stop of change the people who are it. If you have some means of identifying who is it - i.e. a tabbard or tape to put over them then it would be a good idea to do this.

Games - Moving Around Games - Room Boom Boom

Walk around the room - boom boom.

This is a game my daughter described to me so I might have missed out some bits but it seems to keep her amused at Girl's Brigade.
One person calls out: "walk around the room".
Everyone else calls back: "walk around the room, boom, boom!" and proceeds to walk around the room.
Then the caller calls out something everyone should such as "hide under a chair" and the last person to do this can either be out or could become the caller depending on how you want to play it. Other examples of this that could be called out are "sit on a table", "go under someones legs", "lie on the floor", "stand on one leg" etc...
The caller then calls out another action - i.e. "skip around the room" and all the players call back "skip around the room, boom, boom." and play continues as before. Each time the caller calls out a different way of moving around the room and a different thing to do and not be the last to do it.
